MY QUOTES I generally don’t ever get idea block, but I do often deal with bouts of writer’s block. If you WANT to mix your bourbon with something, well, that’s a matter of taste. If you HAVE to mix your bourbon with something, well, that just ain’t good bourbon. If doesn’t matter if you think you can write or not, just do it. You’ll be amazed at what comes out. If Heaven is nothing like a cool crisp Michigan Fall season, then forget it. I’m not going. If you don’t write it down, it’s lost forever, and you will rob yourself and others of something that could be great. Sometimes I drink and sometimes I write…and many times I do both at the same time. |

Jerrod S. Smelker is the owner/operator/writer for Last Leaf Publishing and Wicked Harvest Books. Author of crime prevention books “Vigilant in Today’s World”, spooky short stories and books “Wicked Harvest: Michigan Monsters & Macabre” and “Tales From the Beyond”, short story collection book “Rustling Leaves”, tribute book “Heaven’s Heroes” and novel “Nina”…to name a few. He grew up in Ionia, a quaint small town smack dab in the middle of Michigan between Grand Rapids and the state’s capital, Lansing. He enjoys history, writing, reading, fine cigars and pipes, craft beers and hard ciders, bourbon and moonshine, good coffee, and Michigan road trips. You'll always catch him wearing flannel shirts or cowboy shirts, distressed farmer hats or cowboy hats, a bandana/handkerchief in his back pocket and Blistex lip balm in his front pocket. He is a small-town boy at heart whose soul is forever deeply rooted in the fall season and the Halloween holiday. He currently lives in Grand Blanc Michigan with his wife and three cats. |
